I've always wanted to live in a chateau

with its turrets and multiple pitched roof lines

To Some this life is marked only by despair.  Losses of love, turning from one hardship to another difficulty creates only despondency.  However, the life of a christian is turned from this despair to victory.  We live a life of adventure with numerous twists and turns, excitement at every foothold.  Could anyone dare say that life in Christ is palling, placid, prosaic, mundane or trite?  I think not!
