Right after we arrived home from our trip to Washington, we literally were right back in the car for a road trip to Eureka, Ca. If you have never driven this winding road inland to the coast, it is truly something to behold. So much changing scenery and breathtaking views, I missed taking pictures of the rivers, the cliffs, the dark overgrown forest (because I was doing most of the driving) but you get the gist.
Most of these are action shots from the car, because we just didn't have time to stop and enjoy it all.
Don't you just love quaint sea town cottages
On the way there we didn't see any elk, but on the way back they were everywhere
At times when we were the only ones on the road it became even more spectacular, the feeling of being the only one in this vast beautiful creation.
We got out once to walk the beach, bless my husband for being willing to brave the cold and wind in his dress clothes no less.
When it has been a while since you've seen the sun set over the ocean words just cannot describe the feeling inside. I grew up on the coast in Monterey, Ca and most of my life took seeing the ocean for granted. Now any chance I get, I appreciate it more than ever. Our God is an Awesome God!
